Cora Schwartz

Cora Schwartz holds a Master's degree in Psychology from the New School for Social Research in New York. In addition she is certified by the Albert Ellis Institute to practice (REBT) Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. Cora has worked in the field of Psychology and Mental Health for over twenty-five years. She was a Crisis Counselor in a Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence, and the Director of Child Care in a Residential Treatment center for troubled youth. She also helped develop, initiate, and administer a Behavior Modification Protocol for seriously over-weight hospital patients. She has counseled substance abusers, and has been a Counselor in hospital settings for women in transition. Cora runs groups for Developmentally Disabled Adults and their families. At the present time Cora is a Consulting Behavioral Specialist in various Human Service agencies in New York City. She is a member of Association of Women in Psychology, the International Society for Mental Health Online and the International Association of Coaches.

On a personal level, Cora's mission is to help women triumph over the many life challenges that she has successfully overcome. She is a sixty-three year old Jewish grandmother, and a writer of personal/self help essays and short stories that have been published in various magazines and literary journals. Cora owns a retreat in Upstate New York where writers and artists come to work, and city folk come to be close to nature and hug a few trees. She maintains a private practice in Sullivan County and can make arrangements to see clients in the New York area.
